GETTING READY
1. Thread the female quick disconnect fittings onto airlines with a minimum
1
/
4
" (6.4mm) I.D. Use a thread sealant to prevent leakage.
2. Install the appropriate seal and washer sets on the guns for the tube O.D. and
gauge to be tested.
WARNING:
Unrestricted compressed air hoses can whip, causing personal injury
and equipment damage.
3. Connect the airlines to the guns using the quick disconnect fittings. The
detectors are now ready for use.
Note:
Maximum air pressure 100 PSI (6.9 BAR).
OPERATION
1. Fully insert one detector in each end of the tube to be tested.
2. Activate one or both detectors by squeezing and holding the trigger until the
pressure gauge on the back of the gun stabilizes. Activating only one detector
will remotely activate the other detector, but testing is faster if both guns are
activated simultaneously.
3. Release the trigger and observe the pressure gauge to see if the tube holds
pressure. If so, the tube is fine. If the pressure reading on the gauge drops,
the tube has a leak.
4. Release the pressure by pressing in the relief valve on the top of either or
both guns.
INSTALLING THE OPTIONAL LDA-058 ADAPTER
1. Unthread the tip (#1107) from the gun and remove the washers, seal, and
outer sleeve (#1106) from the gun probe.
2. Slide the spacer tube provided with the adapter over the probe so that it rests
against the gun housing.
3. Thread the adapter onto the inner probe tube using the screwdriver slot in
the tip of the adapter. The adapter must be fully threaded onto the inner tube
so the internal O-ring seats on the end of the inner tube. There should be
approximately
1
/
16
" space between the adapter and the spacer tube.
CAUTION:
Do not activate gun outside tube as seal damage will result. Avoid
bending adapter when inserting and removing in tube.
