5. SPEAKER CONNECTIONS

Usable in any type of configuration, the Logos Sub has a built-in amplifier with both
analogue and digital inputs and a built-in input crossover.
The amp connecting panel provides two additional switches to select the analogue or
digital inputs and which channel of the SPDIF signal is used.
The only connections needed are the Power cord and the interconnect linking the
Logos Sub to the output of the preamplifier, or in digital, the digital link cable for
SPDIF input.
The Logos Sub may receive two analogue cables if one only one Subwoofer is used
so the right and left channels may be mixed automatically inside the crossover.

ATTENTION : If you use 2 Subwoofer in analogue, you have only one cable that
can be connected to any of the two available RCA inputs. In such a case,
always leave the unused input on each Logos Sub with a short-circuiting plug
mounted

ATTENTION : In most configurations, the ground wire from AC plug must
absolutely be lifted on all amplifiers and on the Logos Sub connection to the
AC line. Otherwise a bad ground loop may make amplifiers oscillate and be
destroyed.

The Logos Sub is automatically powered ON when it receives modulation.
For a Home-Theatre connection, several possibilities are accessible.
The connection is different if the speakers are used in a multi-channel system or in a
2 channels system :

A. Connection in a Multi-Channel system :

If used in a multi-channel system :

One Logos Sub may be connected to the Suwoofer channel, either in analogue or

digital.

2 x Logos Sub may also be connected in parallel to the sub-woofer channel in

analogue.

To match the Logos or Logos Mini speaker in frequency response, use the

position 2 (center) of the crossover frequency adjustment. Level adjustment
depends on the room acoustics.

The higher position of the crossover is set for higher crossover frequencies

(around 80Hz). Do not use it for linear response but only to emphasize the low
frequency effects.

The leftmost first position provides a 35Hz cutoff frequency and is used to

complement a system based on the Goldmund Epilogue 1 speakers.
