Step 9  -  Switch the “brake” lever to the “freewheel” position.

Step 10  -  Position one hand on the upper area of the seat post and your other 
hand on the tiller.  Push towards the rear of the scooter with your hand that is on 
the seat post.  Keep the scooter from simply rolling backwards with your other 
hand.
