Operating your Hair Straightener
1.
Fully unwind power cord.
2.
Place straightener on a flat, hard, heat
resistant surface to heat. Ensure sides of
plates are not touching the surface.
3.
Plug in hair straightener to correct power
socket 220-240VAC, 50Hz
4.
Open lock.
5.
Switch on and set the temperature you
want. Wait 3-5 minutes for straightener to
heat.
6.
Section hair into small segments. Ensure
hair is clean, fry and tangle-free. Smaller
segments are easier to manage and
straighten better; try dividing your hair into
sections about 5 cm wide and no more
than 1-1.5cm cm thick.
7.
Start with underneath segments of hair.
8.
Gently stretch out hair then place hair
segment between ceramic plates and close
plates firmly as close as possible to scalp.
DO NOT touch scalp with straightener. Be
careful not to touch the ceramic plates with
your hand/fingers.
9.
Hold for a moment then slide smoothly to
end of hair.
10. Continue to next section of hair and
continue to work your way around your
head.

GENERAL TIPS
If your hair is quite curly and/or frizzy, you may
need to comb each segment before you use the
straightener on it.
We recommend testing a small, hidden section
of hair before you use higher temperatures.
To prevent hair damage, DO NOT slide
straightener over a section of hair more than
twice.
We highly recommend the use of a heat
protectant to help prevent hair damage. Apply
the hair protectant to hair, but not at roots as
this can make your hair appear greasy.
If you begin straightening about 2-3cm away
from the roots, you will achieve more volume to
your hair style.
Try to use a smooth motion, which will give best
straightening results. If you move the
straightener in a jerky manner, you may get
horizontal lines like crimps across your hair.
If you see steam or hear sizzling, stop
immediately as your hair is too damp to be
straightened. Dry hair fully before using hair
straighteners as straightening damp hair is very
damaging.
To create upturned or turned under ‘flicks’, twist
the hair straightener at the end of your hair.
Do not apply styling products like hair spray
before you have finished straightening. Some
styling products are flammable and using a
straightener after such products have been
applied to the hair may create a fire risk.
A silicone based serum used after straightening
adds shine. Do not add mousse or water-based
products after straightening or you hair will turn
wavy with the dampness in the product.
