15. If you change the password of your wireless network, be sure also change the remembered
password.
16. If the connection is not made automatically, you may need to scan again by taping
Menu-Scan.
17. If scanning appears ineffective, turn off WiFi and turn on it again and scan it again.
18. Be sure that the signal strength is not too week, or not in range, understanding that other
device like radio or cordless phones may interface with the signal quality.
19. Some WiFi signals, though listed as unsecured, may still block connections using MAC
address filtering. This will need to be disable in WiFi router, or the MAC address will need
to be added the router as an acceptable device connection.
20. Some WiFi signals appear to be unsecured, but once connected, opening the web browser
does not take you to your home page, but to a security page where you must enter creden

tials or agree to terms of use before getting full web access.

Open a screen that prompts you to select the type of VPN to add. You are then prompted
for VPN configuration details.

network selection, operator selection, and access point names.
3.3.1 data eNabled
Uncheck to prevent your tablet from transmitting data on any mobile network. This is useful
if you are traveling in an area where you do not have a mobile data plan and want to avoid
charges for data use on local carriers’ mobile networks. Unchecking this setting does not pre

vent your tablet from transmitting data on other wireless networks, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
3.5.2 data roaMiNG
Uncheck to prevent your tablet from transmitting data on other carriers’ mobile networks when
you can’t access your own carrier’s mobile networks.
3.5.3 aCCess poiNt NaMes
(GSM mobile networks only.) Opens the APNs screen, where you can select mobile access
point configurations; or touch the Menu button in the Application bar to add a new APN.
Consult your carrier about how to use the tools on this screen.
3.5.4 use oNly 2G Networks
(GSM mobile networks only.) Check to obtain slightly better battery life, by preventing your
tablet from connecting to higher-speed networks.
