Step 2: Spool the Reel
1.
Open the Bail
2.
Placed the line around the reel once
3.
Tie a standard knot (technically the
“
Overhand knot
”)
so that the line is wrapped and tied around the
spool
4.
Tie another knot just to make sure
5.
Cut the loose piece of line approximately
1/4”
away from the reel
6.
Close the bail
7.
Make sure the anti
-
reverse switch is set so that the spool will only go in one direction
8.
Hold the line about a foot away from the reel. Keep some tension on the line while you reel it in
9.
Turn the handle of the reel until the desired amount of line is on the reel

The amount of line needed depends on what weight of line you are using.

Look at the spool and you will see the weight of the line and how many feet the reel will support
