SAFETY INFORMATION

OVERLOADING
Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords or adapters as this can result in

re
or electrical shock.
LOCATION
Place the product indoors to avoid exposing it to lightening, rain or sun. Do not place it near
a radiator or heat register. Make sure it has more than 10 cm clearance from any appliances
susceptible to electromagnetic in
fl
uences, such as TV and VCR.
LIQUIDS
Keep liquids away from the PVR.
CLEANING
Before cleaning, disconnect the PVR from the wall socket.
Use a cloth lightly dampened with water(no solvents) to clean the exterior.
VENTILATION
Do not block the PVR ventilation holes. Ensure that free air
fl
ow is maintained around the
PVR. Never store the PVR where it is exposed to direct sunlight or near heating euipment
e.g. a radiator. Never stack other electronic equipment on top of the PVR. Place the PVR
at least 30 mm from the wall.
ATTACHMENTS
Do not use any attachment that is not recommended by the manufacturer; it may cause
a hazard or damage the equipment.
CONNECTION TO
THE CABLE TV
SIGNAL AND TV
Connect all components before plugging any power cords into the wall outlet. Always turn
off the PVR, TV and other components before you connect or disconnect any cables.
SERVICING
Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Any attempt to do so will make the warranty
invalid. Refer all servicing to a quali
fi
ed service agent.
LIGHTNING, STORM,
OR NOT IN USE
If the PVR is installed in an area subject to intense lightning activity, protection devices
for the PVR mains connector and modem telephone line are essential. The individual
manufacturer‘s instruction for safeguarding other equipment, such as TV set, Hi-Fi,
etc., connected to the PVR must also be followed during lightning storms. Unplug the
product from the wall outlet and disconnect the aerial during a lightning storm or when left
unattended and unused for a long period of time.
GROUNDING
CATV cable MUST BE EARTHED. The grounding system must comply with SABS 061.
REPLACEMENT
OF PARTS
When the replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician uses replacement
parts speci
fi
ed by the manufacturer or those that have the same characteristics as the
original part. Unauthorised substitutions may result in additional damage to the unit.
Note: Dispose the used batteries at designated place for environment protection.
