General safety
instructions
These operating instructions con-
tain information required for the
use and maintenance of the
shredder. Take time to carefully
study them.
The instructions are also de-
signed to ensure your personal
safety.
Prior to operating, check the power
cable and plug. Any repairs should be
carried out by authorised personnel
only.
Before starting operation, always check
to see that nuts, screws and rotating
parts are not worn or damaged.
The unit must be operated only on a
firm and level base.
Always check that the cable lays in a
straight line away from the unit.
Use (FI) safety switches with max.
30mA breaking current!
Connect the shredder only to properly
earthed power points.
The connection should be of rubber-
sheathed cable, to be type 05 RN-F
minimum, with a conductor cross sec-
tion of 1.5 mm
2
(up to 25 m) or 2.5
mm
2
for more than 25 m, resp. The
power point must be fitted with a
shower proof cover guard.
Insert the plug into the power point
only when the unit is switched off.
Children under 16 and persons not fa-
miliar with the operation of the shred-
der should not operate the unit under
any circumstances.
Note that the operator is responsible for
the safety of third parties within the op-
erating range of the shredder. Never
operate the shredder when people are
nearby.
When using your shredder always wear
strong shoes, gloves and safety
glasses. (We also recommend to wear
ear protectors when shredding!)
Do not wear loose hanging clothing or
clothing with hanging ribbons or cords.
Hands, other body parts and clothing
are not to be put into the filling cham-
ber, discharge channel or near other
moving parts.
Do not transport or tilt the shredder
while the motor is running.
Operate unit only under conditions
of sufficient visibility.
Always disconnect it from the mains,
prior to working on the unit.
Never remove any safety devices
during operation.
