OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Before using it, it is necessary to insert the batteries into
the handle compartment proceed as illustrated in battery replacement procedure.
Hold the battery handle and head in each hand and match the bayonet grooves on both the head and
handle, push the head down and turn the head clock wise.
Check that the connection between the head and handle is perfect and that the rheostat works correctly.
Push the white button on the handle and twist the black knob towards the left hand side. The unit is now in
operating position. The intensity of the light can be adjusted by turning the knob clock wise or counter clock wise.
Gently place the rubber eye brow near your eye. Then point the light beam at the center of the eye lens.
With your index finger on the lens selection dial, make use of the proper lens and note for treatment.
Switch off the unit after use to preserve batteries. Twist the black knob towards right until an audible click
sound is heard once the button comes to its off position.
ALOGEN OPHTHALMOSCOPE
The ophthalmoscope is designed for examination of the eye.Precision ground lenses
provide 24 dioptre settings, from +ve: 0, 1 to 6 then 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 40 to -ve: 0, 1
to 6 then 8, 10, 15, 20 and 25. The May wheel containing the lenses can be rotated in
either clockwise or anti clockwise direction
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Before using, thoroughly check the product and accessories (if provided) the same
operation shall be carried out after cleaning. If the light is intermittent or in case it does
not turn on, check the bulb, the batteries and the electric contacts. In case the lamp stops
working, it is possible to replace it with original spare lamp. To replace the lamp, follow
lamp replacement instructions see fig.3 also.
CLEANING
Lens
The lens can be cleaned by using a moistened cotton-tipped applicator with Alcohol or a
solution of water with mild detergent.
Do not use abrasive materials to clean the lenses as they will scratch the coated
surface of the lenses.
Handle
The handle can be cleaned with a moist cloth.
Battery handle shell not be dipped into water. Remove battery components while cleaning.
Periodically check the battery condition, making sure that no sign of corrosion or oxidation
is present, in case they have to be replaced, it is highly recommended to use new alkaline
ones. For battery replacement see fig.2.
