Internet Connection Type
There are
three
possible types of Internet connections.
1. PPPoE: Most common for home DSL subscribers. You will need to provide the PPPoE
User Name
and
Password.
2. Dynamic IP (DHCP): No login information is needed.
3. Static IP: You will need to complete the
Internet IP Address
,
Subnet Mask
,
Gateway
, and
DNS
fields. You
will need to enter at least one DNS address.
If you don’t know what type of Internet connection you have, don’t worry. SmartSetup3 will automatically detect
your type of internet connection and open up your default web browser to the proper ISP login screen.
A. If the router’s web based configuration screen does not immediately open, type
http://192.168.1.254
in
the address bar of your browser and press Enter.
B. When prompted by the dialog box for username and password, key in the default user name:
admin
and
the default password:
admin
Press OK.
C. Depending on your internet connection, one of the following ISP configuration screens will be displayed:
PPPoE Type Internet Login Screen
Static IP Address Type Internet Login Screen
