Safety information
This device must be installed by a technician in accordance
with the applicable regulations. The electrical power supply
and the circuit protection must be switched off throughout the
entire installation process.
Please check that the connection cable
is disconnected!
Under no circumstances does the warranty cover
damage resulting from failure to observe these instructions. Nor do we
accept liability for any indirect damage. Similarly, we can accept no
liability for any material damage or bodily injury caused by mishandling
or failure to observe the safety instructions. In these cases, no warranty
claim may be made. In addition, for safety and compliance reasons, you
are not authorised to dismantle or alter the device in any way.
Intended use
The GEV fl ush-mounted time switch LZU is intended to replace a
normal individual light switch. It may not be used in two-way circuits,
intermediate switch circuits or outdoors. The connected lighting can
be switched automatically at preset times with minute-by-minute
accuracy. A large button allows the lighting to be switched permanently
ON/OFF. The product must be mounted and used in a fl ush-mounted
box (ø 68 mm).
Installation
Undo screw

and remove the control panel with the cover frame.
Connect the mains connection cable as shown in the wiring diagram
(Fig. D
). Place the time switch in the fl ush-mounted box and tighten
the screws on the left and right. Before using the device for the fi rst
time, remove the protective strip from the battery

frame with the control panel and tighten screw

. Switch the circuit
protection back on.
Use
If no button is pressed for 60 seconds, the device will revert to the time

- Initial activation
To program, please work through the following steps in the correct
order. Press button

The LZU time switch has 18 programs which are subdivided into 9 ON
switching operations (uneven program numbers) and 9 OFF switching
operations (even program numbers). Each program can be assigned a
specifi c day of the week or a part of the week (Mo – Fr or Sa + So).

- Programming the random feature
The time switch has a random feature which performs several
switching operations within a preset time period. The switch-on times
vary between 4 and 60 minutes after the last switch-off. The switch-on
duration is randomly selected and lasts from 3 to 24 minutes.

The LZU time switch has 3 different types of light control.
MAN
= manual. The light is turned ON or OFF using the rocker switch.

AUTO
= automatic. The light is turned ON and OFF automatically at
the preset times.
RAN
= random feature. The light is turned ON and OFF repeatedly
during the preset time period.
