What does "casing only" mean?
"Casing only" means that no hard drive is included with the HyperDrive.
You will need to purchase and install your own 2.5" hard drive into the HyperDrive casing for it to function
as a backup device.
What does the product warranty covers?
The product warranty provides off-site product repair/replacement for all product manufacture defects and
malfunctions due to no fault of the customer.
Prior to any returns, customer will need to contact us to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA)
number.
Customer will be responsible for all shipping and handling costs for returning the product to the nearest
service center.
What is the maximum file size or maximum card/HDD capacity HyperDrive can accept?
Like virtually all memory cards and digital cameras, the HyperDrive uses FAT32 file system which has a 4GB
(4,000MB) single file size limit and a theoretical 4TB (4,000,000MB) volume limit.
This means that each photo cannot be more than 4GB (4,000MB) in size and the memory card (and also the
hard drive used in HyperDrive) cannot be larger than 4TB (4,000,000MB).
Since memory cards, digital cameras and the HyperDrive all use the FAT32 file system and are bounded by
the same size limitations. If you can store the file on the memory card, it is safe to say that the contents of
the memory card can be copied and stored on the HyperDrive.
Despite these limitations, FAT32 is a pretty universal file system and the advantage is that it is (read/write)
accessible by both Windows and Mac OS computers.
When I wish to use 2 or more hard drives with the HyperDrive, is it possible to constantly swap
out the hard drives?
While it is possible to change out and upgrade the hard drive in the HyperDrive, it is not recommended to
constantly swap hard drives in HyperDrive as the IDE connectors of both the hard drive and the HyperDrive
are not designed to be used in this manner. Frequent (estimated more than 50 times) swapping of hard
drives may wear out the hard drive connectors and affect data transfer between the hard drive and the
