General Information and Setup
Setting Cutting Height
See Figure 2-5 . Install cutting cords in the line plate (A-
E) that gives you the desired cutting height. Cutting
heights range in 1.5 in (3.8 cm) increments from 1.5 in
(3.8 cm) when using the bottom line plate to 3.5 in (8.9
cm) when using the top line plate.

Installing Cutting Cords
There are two installation points on each line plate. Each
point is 180° apart. Always install two cords, one opposite
the other at the desired cutting height.
NOTE: Soaking cutting cords and trimming the ends at
an angle will make installation easier.
1. See Figure 2-6 . Insert the ends of cord (A) into
side openings (B)
2. Push the cord through until the ends come out the
center hole (C) Adjust the cords so the tips are
even.

3. See Figure 2-7 . Pull the end of the cords (D) under
the looped section of the cord (E) and push the
loop up into the line plate groove (F) above the
cord ends and pull the cords tight.

4. Verify the cords are even. Uneven cords can result
in increased vibration.
NOTE: Figure 2-8 illustrates cord installation on the line
plate. There are two installation points (G) on each line
plate. Each point is 180° apart. Always install two cords,
one opposite the other.

Extending Cutting Cord Life
• Store cord out of the sun. UV can damage the cord
causing premature wear.
• Soak cutting cords in a bucket of room temperature
water for a few days before use to make the cord
more pliable
• Store cords in a plastic bag with a damp sponge or
cloth to keep the cord pliable
