6.16.3.8 Function of calculation for Initial diameter
This function performs a preliminary calculation of the diameter of an unwinder/winder before starting the line.
This allows better control of the system avoiding unwanted balancing of the dancer.
The calculation is based on the measure of the movement of the dancer from the position of lower fullrange to
its central position of work, and on the measure of angular movement of the roll during the initial phase.

The function of initial diameter calculation can be carried out only when the winder/unwinder
are controlled through dancer (no load cell) and the speed feed-back is carried out through
encoder.
The result of the calculation is assigned to the parameter
PI output PID
, and so it represents the multiplier factor
of the feed-forward, in order to obtain the angular speed reference of the motor.
Its value is universely proportional to the roll diameter.
