3.2 Setting
the
Torque
WARNING
ALWAYS make sure that you use the scale with the requisite
unit. Non-compliance of the requisite scale can result in faulty
screw connections. These might cause damage, SERIOUS
INJURY or DEATH.
Familiarize yourself with the torque wrench and its scales.
The torque wrenches are equipped with a double scale (N·m /
lbf·ft or lbf·in). Check the unit and scale.
When using tool accessories with depth gauge different than
the depth gauge specified on the certificate, an adjustment to
the torque set must be made (see 3.3). The reason for this is
the extension/reduction of the torque wrench's effective
length. As a result, the torque which has effect on the screw
connection gradually becomes higher or lower than the
torque set.
The desired torque ALWAYS has to be set before using the
torque wrench:
Select the scale unit (3) by
switching between main
scale N·m and ancillary -
scale lbf·ft / lbf·in to prevent
reading errors when setting
the desired torque via the
control (7).
Pull out the locking button
(1) on the end of the
handle (2).
The yellow mark on the
locking button (1) indicates
that the torque-wrench is
unlocked and can be adjusted as a
resultwrench is unlocked and can be
adjusted as a result.
