Induction Cooking – How It Works Summary
1. Electronics power a coil under the cooktop
that produces a high-frequency
electromagnetic field.
2. The EM field interacts with ferrous metal
cookware & sets up a circulating electric
current, which generates heat.
3. The heat generated in the cookware is
transferred to the cookware’s contents.
4. Nothing outside the cookware is affected by
the field. As soon as the cookware is
removed from the element, or the element is
turned off, heat generation stops.
