Motor Pump Assembly
The motor pump assembly is located under the tub
behind the sump assembly. The motor utilizes a
start capacitor rated at 10
fd. The motor rotates
clockwise (as viewed from the terminal end) and
draws approximately 1 amp at 120 VAC.
The motor pump assembly has an approximate
resistance value of 17
.
Operation of the motor pump assembly can be
checked by using the service test mode. (See
Service
Test Mode
.)
To remove the motor pump assembly:
1. Disconnect
power.
2. Open the dishwasher door and remove the
bottom rack.
3. Remove the dishwasher from its installation.
4. Lay the dishwasher on its back.
Caution:
The clamps are easily damaged during
removal and should not be reused.
5. Disconnect the motor ground wire.
Note: Factory-installed hose clamps are not
reusable. When installing a water inlet valve, drain
pump assembly, motor pump assembly, or sump
assembly, replace the old clamps with new screw-
type hose clamps provided. The screw-type hose
clamps are available separately.
6. Remove clamp and outlet hose.

7. Cut off the wire tie and disconnect the motor
wire harness.
8. Remove 2 clamps, pump interconnect hose, and
outlet hose.
9. Remove the Phillips-head screw, lock washer,
and washer that attach the motor bracket to the
back rail.
10. Pull the motor bracket off the motor tab.
