5. Assembly, Installation and Connection
It is recommended to have the installation conducted by an authorised specialist garage.
The Bluetooth® hands-free/HIFI Receiver must be installed in the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s
installation instructions. Please observe the aforementioned important installation information!
The keypad should be positioned in the cockpit of the vehicle in such a way that the driver can easily access it
(e.g. adhesive pad).
For safety reasons, it is essential that all cables are fastened in place or concealed behind the panelling.
Insert the plug of the
BT Link 1
in the system- connector of
FastMute
Sonic XL
only while
turned OFF.
For optimum performance, position the panel in the direct-speaking-direction of driver.
We recommend installation in the middle of the dashboard.
Avoid the installation near the air vents outlets.
Please follow the instructions manual of
FastMute
Sonic XL
!
6. Operation and Use
Coupling the mobile cellular phone with the Bluetooth® handsfree unit
To be able to operate the mobile cellular phone with the handsfree unit, this must be registered on the
BT Link 1
(the devices have to get to know each other – coupling).
To do this, switch on your
FastMute
Sonic XL
. The
BT Link 1
is switched on by turning on the ignition.
After the very first switch-on the status display slowly flashes red after approx. 5 seconds and the
BT Link 1
is
in coupling mode, i.e. the adapter waits for a coupling with a Bluetooth® mobile cellular phone.
The “search for Bluetooth® devices“ and the coupling with the
BT Link 1
must be initiated in the menu control of
the mobile cellular phone. To do this, please refer to the operating instructions for your mobile cellular phone.
During the coupling process you will be asked to enter a PIN.
The PIN for the
BT Link 1
is “0000”.
The successful coupling with a Bluetooth® mobile cellular phone is indicated by red LED and acoustically (- high
tone – low tone – high tone -) the
BT Link 1
then changes to standard mode. Now calls can be made and taken
in.
Finding the MP3 source on the HiFi-receiver connected to
BT Link 1
To connect an audio device with the HiFi-receiver, it first has to be registered with the receiver (i.e. the devices
must locate or 'find' each other - coupling).
The
BT Link 1
unit must be switched on and if connected to a mobile telephone, it should be in hands-free
mode (preferably it should not be connected at all). The locating procedure is performed by the audio device.
The password for the
BT Link 1
hi-fi receiver is “0000“.
Once the devices have found each other, it is possible to set up the connection between the HiFi-receiver of the
BT Link 1
and the audio device. The green-lit LED indicates that the Audio Player mode is activated.
The
BT Link 1
is now able to receive the audio data from the MP3 source and feed it to the car speaker.
Should you wish to add a further audio device, it is first necessary to terminate the connection with the existing
audio device. You should then repeat the device location procedure, as described above.
