PRE-RECORD. If you plan to use the Pre-Record feature, note that this
feature is a two step process.
Pre-Record must first be mapped to a user key (e.g. User 1 or @ on the SSD
module, or on the Redmote), and then
initiated prior
to activating Record
(via housing Record Trigger or otherwise).
Refer to the RED DSMC / DSMC2 Operations Operations Guide for more
details on mapping features like Pre-Record to a User Key.
Fan
. Set EPIC camera fan to
ADAPTIVE for most efficient
cooling. Settings are

openings or obstruct cooling fan
airflow The intake is in the front
just below the lens, and the
exhaust on the top of the
camera.
Camera Basics.
The camera should
be stripped down to the bare body.
Specifically:
DSMC
should have no attachments – cables, monitors or lenses. Only the
Brain and Lens mount (Nikon, Canon or PL)
DSMC2
is the same, however the SDI Jetpack Module and Sidekick Module
is required with DSMC2 and should be installed at this time.
Mini
must have the antenna, viewfinder and any other mounting bracketry
removed. Only the lens mount (Nikon, Canon or PL) installed.
