2. Fill in pure tap water (drinking quality) up to the water level mark 1700/Max. Try to hold
the kettle as level as possible, while doing so.
Boil the water as described in the following section (Operating Your Design Kettle).
3. Discard the water.
NOTE:
Your kettle will only operate when positioned on the power base with the power switch
in the ‘On’ position (red). The kettle will automatically switch OFF, once the water has boiled.
Too little water will result in the kettle switching OFF before the water has boiled.
Operating Your Design Kettle
CAUTION!
Only fill with pure drinking water. Do not fill any other liquids or foodstuffs into
the water container and do not add any additional ingredients, such as spices or flavours. Do
not place any foreign objects in the water container. Do not drip or spill any liquids on the exte-
rior of the kettle or on the power base.
Ensure the kettle is filled with the appropriate amount of water (water level between
500 and
1700/MAX)
before switching on the appliance.
WARNING! Do not use any extension cord or multi socket outlet to avoid
risk of fire and electric shock.
Always connect the appliance directly to a separately pro-
tected mains power supply wall socket with protective conductor (earth/ground) connected pro-
perly (see Important Safeguards for Electrical Appliances). Always completely unwind the
power cord before connecting the plug to the power supply.
Do not use any mains adapter other than the supplied power base for the kettle.
Always place the appliance on a stable, level, dry and sufficiently large surface. Ensure, that
the power base will not tilt or wobble during operation. Do not operate the appliance on an
inclined surface, to avoid scalding and damage by boiling water overflowing the brim of the
kettle.
Beware of hot surfaces! The exterior of the kettle and lid will get very hot during operation.
Only use handles and knobs for handling the appliance. Beware of hot condensate and steam,
when opening the lid.
Immediately switch OFF and unplug the appliance, if water leaks out of the kettle.
1. Prepare the power base for use.
Completely unwind the power cord from the cord storage and insert it in the gab on the bot-
tom of the power base.
Place the power base on an appropriate surface (level, dry, water-resistant and heat-resistant).
During operation, always keep the appliance away from other objects: leave at least 20 cm of
free space on each side and 1 m of free space above the appliance. Ensure, that the power
base will not tilt or wobble.
2. Fill with pure drinking water.
Press the opening button to open the lid. Fill with the desired amount of water. Always fill the
kettle between the minimum (500) and maximum marks (1700/MAX) on the water gauge.
• Too little water will result in the kettle switching OFF before the water has boiled.
• Filling above the maximum mark on the water gauge of the kettle may result in boiling
water splashing from the kettle.
