6.2.1 Servo Control Push-Rod Linkage
NOTE
Control push-rod linkage (Garmin P/N 117-01020-01, -02, -03) must be disconnected or
taken out before the GFS 83 servos can be removed.
NOTE
For the GFS 83 Roll-Axis servo arm (1.5 inch servo output arm, Garmin P/N 011-04559-02),
there may not be enough clearance between the servo and output arm to remove the bolt
connecting the control push-rod to the output arm. If the bolt must be removed with the
control push-rod linkage, the servo output arm may be removed from the servo in accordance
with Section 6.2.4.
Removal
1. Remove power from the GFC 600H FCS by pulling the FCS circuit breaker.
2. Gain access to the roll, pitch, or yaw servos.
3. Remove safety pin, undo the nut and remove bolt that attaches the end of the control push-rod to
the servo output arm.
4. To entirely remove the control push-rod, remove the safety pin, undo the nut, and remove bolt that
attaches the control push-rod end to the helicopter control linkage system. Refer to Figure 6-3 and
Figure 6-4 for details.
Re-installation
WARNING
Before connecting the control push-rod linkage, verify that the servo output arm is oriented
properly and the rotorcraft controls are pinned in the neutral position. Refer to Figure 6-5,
Figure 6-6, and Figure 6-7 for details. Failure to do so may result in control reversal.
NOTE
If the GFS 83 servo has also been removed, ensure that the steps of Section 6.2.2 for servo
re-installation have been completed prior to reconnecting the control push-rod linkage to
the servo output arm.
NOTE
If the servo output arm has also been removed, ensure that the steps of Figure 6.2.4 for
servo output arm re-installation, Figure 4.7 for the output arm friction washers reset, and
Figure 6.2.3 for shear fuse re-installation, have been completed prior to reconnecting the
control push-rod linkage to the servo output arm.
NOTE
If the bolt used to attach the control push-rod linkage to the GFS 83 Roll-Axis servo arm
(1.5 inch servo output arm, Garmin P/N 011-04559-02) was removed, then it must be
re-installed through the output arm hole before reinstalling the arm to the servo in
accordance with Figure 6.2.4.
