CHAIN´S OIL
Use engine oil SAE 30
Note: Do not use used oil since it can cause damages to the oil pump.
Filling the chain oil
(Fig. 12)
To avoid dirt getting into the tank, clean the oil tank cap before open it.
Verify the content of the oil tank and refill if necessary. Close the oil
level cap, tighten it and clean any spill.
Setting the cable extension
(Fig. 13)
Only use cable extensions accredited for outdoor use. The section of
the cable (maximum cable extension length: 25 m) has to be at least of
the 1,5 mm
2
type and make sure it is totally spread out. Fit the
chainsaw connector to the cable extension inserting it to the cable hook
of the cover. A cable extension longer than 25 m will reduce the yield of
the chainsaw.
Chain lubrication
In order to avoid an excessive wearing down of the chainsaw, the
chain and the guide bar should be lubricated in an even way during its
operation.
The lubrication is automatic. Never work without chain lubrication. If the
chain is working dry, all the cutting system will be damaged very fast.
Therefore it is important to verify the chain lubrication and the oil
detector every time you use it. (Fig. 2, 3, 12).
Never use the chain when the oil level is below the “minimum” mark.
• Min.: When only 5 mm approximately of oil is visible in the inferior
edge of the oil level, it has to be filled with oil.
• Max.: Filled with oil until the window is full.
Checking the automatic lubrication
Before starting to work, check the automatic chain lubrication and the
oil level. Turn the chainsaw on and hold it above the ground. Do not
allow the chainsaw to touch the ground. For security reasons, it is
better to maintain a distance of at least 20 cm. If signs of oil appear, the
chain lubrication system is working correctly. If there is no signs of oil,
clean the oil exit (Fig. 3, B), the tightened orifice of the superior chain
and the oil pipe, or contact the technical service.
