Troubleshooting Guide
Fault
Cause
Solution
Opener not working at all
1. Power supply disconnected
2. Loose wiring
1. Check the power supply
2. Carefully open the motor cover
and check all wiring is connected
and there are no loose plugs
LED displays “-” – opener doesn’t
work
1. Faulty setting of the travel limit
1. Reset the travel limits (page 11)
The door opens but does not close
1. Photo beam obstruction
2. Photo beam setting is turned on
but no photo beam is installed
1. Remove obstruction
2. Cancel then photo beam setting
(see page 13)
Open and close action works in
reverse
1. The positive and negative motor
wires on the control board are
reversed
1. Unplug the power to the motor,
remove the motor cover and
reverse the positive and negative
wires
Door auto reverses to full open
before competely closing
1. There was an obstruction
2. Travel limits may not be set
correctly
3. Some older doors have
unbalanced springs
1. Remove obstruction
2. Reset the travel limits (page 11)
3. Increase the operating force
(page 12)
Remote doesn’t work
1. Flat battery in the remote
2. Motor antenna is loose or not
extended
3. Nearby interference
1. Replace the remote battery
2. Check the antenna and fully
extend
3. Get rid of interference
Can’t add new remotes
1. Memory is full
2. New remote is from another
brand
1. Check that the memory is full and
clear if required (see page 11)
2. Use GarageAce™ remotes only
LED displays “C” – opener doesn’t
work
1. Motor cord is loose
2. Control board is damaged
1. Reinsert motor cord
2. Replace control board (refer
supplier)
LED displays “H” – opener doesn’t
work
1. Motor is damaged
1. Replace motor (refer supplier)
LED displays “H” after opener
moves door only centimeters
1. Magnetic position sensor has
loose wiring to the control board
2. Magnetic position sensor or
control board is damaged
1. Turn the power off, remove the
motor cover and check the sensor
wiring
2. Replace the magnetic sensor or
control board (refer supplier)
Loud banging noise when door
tries to operate
1. Belt drive is too loose
1. Tighten belt drive
