Operation

GENERAL

The telephone interface functions as follows:

1.  The caller dials the phone number or PBX extension associated with the Centra-Page central cabinet.

2.  Between the second and ninth ring (ring delay is user programmable; see "RING DELAY" on page

3) , a birdie tone will sound on the page line of the Centra-Page system.   This signal is 

not

 on the

alarm bus.  Refer to Figure 2 for DIP switch information.

3. To answer the call, an individual within the plant lifts a station handset on party line 1 and answers

the call.  All of the handset stations on party line 1 must be on-hook before the call can be answered:
any station that is off-hook during the birdie tone must be placed on-hook before the call can be
answered.
