Safety

● The motor is double insulated; do not connect any wire to the E or earth pin of 3-pin
plugs.  Wires inside are color corded:  Blue/neutral; Brown/life.  Use 3-5 am fuse.
● Each season before using, having your equipment checked and tested by your service

   center.

● Only use the clipper at the correct voltage.
● Electrical equipment is NOT WATERPROOF.   Do not use in wet conditions.
● Always unplug unit before changing blades, etc.
● Do not plug into extension cords.

Tensioning the blades

● Wipe the head and blades (includeing the teeth) clean.
● Fit the blades on the clipper head and screw the tension nut down finger tight
● Turn the nut back 3 turns.
● Oil the blades, and the head.   Turn your clipper on and run it briefly.
● Turn the unit off and wipe off any excess oil.

Lubrication

● We recommend using Furzone Clipper Oil.

Variable Speed Switch:

The 614 comes with a variable speed switch which allows it to go from 1500 spm to 2700
spm.  Because the torque for this clipper is so strong, it is rarely necessary to run it on high.

The best speed for any clipper is the lowest speed it will do your job properly.  The faster
any unit goes, the faster it will get hot.

Lubrication

● Oil the moving parts before starting the motor.  It is necessary to pint the head upward so

that the oil will penetrate between cutter points, and sideways to effectively reach rear
   blade surfaces.

● Oil between cutter points
● Oil clipper head front pads
● Oil blade guide channel
● Oil cutter blade heel
● Oil crank shaft and roller

Unlike the 611, this model does not slow down when oil is needed.  Regularly oil your
blades to keep them cool.   We suggest you oil every 10 minutes of clipping time.
DO NOT USE SPRAY COOLANTS.   Instead, we recommend you use a Furzone Forever

Cool Cooling stone, and oil regularly.

Caring for your Blades

● Keep your blades together as matched sets. They will wear as a set, and switching

cutters and combs will cause them to work less efficiently.

● Teeth can break if you drop your blades or hit them with a heavy object.

These steel blades are specially hardened for good cutting,
but the same process makes than more brittle should they be dropped.

● Always clean your blades.   The best way to store your blades is in an oily cloth.

Failure to Cut

● If your new blades fail to cut when first used, stop work immediately - DO NOT TIGHTEN
DOWN ON THE TENSION. Clean them carefully, re-oil them and refit them to your clipper.

● The Cutting Edge on your blades will wear and dull.
Please return them to a qualified sharpener for resharpening.
