chipDISK for RemoteView
To be able to use
RemoteView
, the Remote Test- and Diagnosis System, on the
server, a chipDISK with an IDE interface is optionally available as an
independent storage medium.
I
The chipDISK may only be installed and configured by a service
technician.

Accessible Drives
The PRIMERGY H250 server offers a total of four mounting locations for acces-
sible drives:
–
1 x 3,5 inch, used by the floppy disk drive
–
3 x 5,25 inch, one of which is used by the CD-ROM drive.
The two free 5,25 inch mounting locations can accommodate one full-height or
two half-height backup drives (magnetic tape drives). The floppy disk drive is
mounted together with the control panel in a carrier.
I
The accessible drives may only be installed or removed by a service
technician.

Power Supply Units
The server can be equipped with up to three power supply units. In the basic
configuration, one power supply unit is used. This power supply unit is sufficient
for the following configuration of the server:
–
maximum of six hard disk drives
–
all controllers (restriction: max. two 3-channel or 4-channel RAID
controllers)
–
4 GB memory
–
two processors
Depending on the configuration of the server (more than six hard disk drives or
more than two RAID controllers) an additionally power supply unit is required.
A second or a third hot plug power supply unit must be added to achieve
redundant power supply. If one power supply unit fails, the remaining other
power supply units ensure unimpaired further operation; the defective power
supply unit can be replaced during operation (hot-plug power supply unit).
