Memory modules

The PRIMERGY BX620 S5 server blade offers 6 DDR3 DIMM slots per CPU.
These are organized in 2 banks (black versus blue slots, see
figure 13
) and 3
channels. All 12 main memory slots support RDIMMs (registered DIMMs) and
UDIMMs (unbuffered DIMMs).

Each slot can be fitted with 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB single- or dual-ranked
DIMM memory modules.
This allows a maximum memory configuration of 24 GB with UDIMMs (capac-
ities: 1 GB and 2 GB) and 96 GB with RDIMMs (capacities 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB).

A combination of UDIMM and RDIMM memory modules is not allowed.
Memory operating modes

Independent Channel Mode (maximum memory configuration)
The full capacity of the installed memory can be used (up to 96 GB). There
are no restrictions on fitting the individual channels, and you can also install
memory modules with different speeds (the clock rate of the slowest
memory module is set for each channel).
