Replacing the installation kit
• Requirements:
There are not any hard disk drives installed in the drive bays.
Otherwise you must
fi rst remove the hard disk drives.
• The casing is open (see "Opening the casing", Page 36 ).
If you wish to use an installation kit for your hard disks which is other than that which
was installed in your device in the factory, proceed as follows:
► If any hard disk drives are already installed, remove them (see "Removing a hard disk", Page 58 ).
► If necessary, disconnect the drive cables from the installation kit:
Press the locking lug to unlock the cable bracket and push the cable bracket
to the rear and out of the opening.
► Undo the screws on the old installation kit.
► Remove the installation kit from the casing.
► Position the new installation kit at the bay.
► Fasten the new installation kit with the screws.
► Secure the drive cables on the installation kit again.
► If required, connect further drive cables with suf fi cient drive connectors to
the installation kit and the mainboard.
When connecting the cables, note the numbering on the installation kit and on the cables.
