7.7 Addition of Function of Indicating the
Erasure Lamp Temperature
This is a new additional function of the RU software V2.4. The function is added as
part of the improvement for warm-up/cool-down of the erasure lamp unit.
7.7.1 Indication of the Erasure Lamp Temperature
The temperature of the erasure lamp unit is indicated in 5°C steps, such as 50°C,
55°C, 60°C and so on. Although the same temperature is displayed, the
corresponding region differs between the indicated temperature and the actual
temperature, depending on whether the temperature is rising or lowering. This is
because resolution of the temperature detection driver is set to be in 5°C steps to
assure stability in control.
Mentioned below are the corresponding regions between the indicated temperature
and the actual temperature for respective cases where the temperature is rising and
lowering.

When the temperature is rising:
Indicated temperature 50°C 55°C 60°C 65°C
Actual temperature 50°C-54°C 55°C-59°C 60°C-64°C 65°C-69°C

When the temperature is lowering:
Indicated temperature 50°C 55°C 60°C 65°C
Actual temperature 46°C-50°C 51°C-55°C 56°C-60°C 61°C-65°C
7.7.2 Erasure Unit Thermal Sensor Display (MUTL)
A function of indicating the erasure lamp temperature is added to the Mechanical 2
Check of the MUTL.
Clicking [Erasure Unit Thermal Sensor Display], the current erasure lamp temperature
appears on the left-hand side of the window.
Although the item appears in the RU PC-TOOL V3.6 or earlier, it does not work.
7.7.3 Indication of the Out-of-the Erasure Operating Range
in ERROR DB (ERROR DB)
A function of indicating that the erasure lamp unit is out of the erasure operating
temperature is added to the ERROR DB of the RU PC-TOOL V3.6.
One of the following temperature indication messages appears:
- When the erasure lamp temperature is lower than 50°C, the warm-up is being
awaited. Get the IP standby until the temperature exceeds 50°C without performing
the erasure.
- When the erasure lamp temperature is higher than 80°C, the cool-down is being
awaited. Get the IP standby until the temperature is lower than 80°C without
performing the erasure.
Shown below is an example of the temperature indication message on the ERROR-
DB window.
