battery removal and installation.
3. Drill a 5/8" hole in the battery tray.
4. Remove any burrs and sharp edges.
5. Install grommet (5CS43985) in drilled hole.
6. Route the battery harness (5CS50912)
through the grommet such that the two-way
connector exists the battery compartment.
7. Continue with step 4 of "Install Wiring
Harness" above.
Special Installation Instructions for 3D & 3E
tractors
1. If required to fit drill, remove battery - follow
your tractor operator manual instructions for
battery removal and installation.
2. (For 3D only) Remove existing plug on left
side of battery tray (JD Part No. 99M7073).
3. (For 3E only) Mark center of drill location
1" rearward from battery hold down bracket
tab cutout and 1" from rightward from edge
of grille (JD Part Co. LVU30453) on the
left side of the tractor. If battery tray design
differs from image shown, drill in the general
vicinity that will accommodate the grommet's
size.
4. Drill a 5/8" hole in existing hole where plug
was removed.
5. Remove any burrs and sharp edges.
6. Install grommet (5CS43985) in drilled hole.
7. Route harness through grommet with fuse
holder inside the battery compartment.
8. Continue with step 4 of "Install Wiring
Harness" above.
