Start -18°C cycle with timed mode
1.
Check that the evaporator is not packed with ice
Start a defrosting cycle, if necessary
If the evaporator is completely packed with ice, once defrosted, make sure that the
equipment works properly
→
see “installation check list/functional testing”
2.
Check that the evaporator fan(s) work properly
the failed operation of one or more evaporator fans heavily limits the equipment
performance
→
see also “The evaporator fan does not work”
3.
Check that the reading of the “B1” chamber probe is correct. An abnormal temperature value can affect the
performance and correct operation of the equipment
→
see also “
Cell probe alarm
”
4.
Connect the pressure gauges to the corresponding pressure ports on the system -
> see “Explanation of the
refrigeration system”
Check the working pressures with the cycle in progress
With cell and room temperatures between 20 and 30°C, if the evaporation pressure > 1BAR and the
condensation pressure > 5/6BAR, the system is without gas
Pressurise the system, find the leak, replace the faulty component
Load the system with the correct amount of refrigerant
→
see “rating plate”
Once the system has been loaded, make sure it works properly
→
see “installation check list/functional testing”
With cell and room temperatures between 20 and 30°C, if the evaporation pressure > 1BAR and the condensation
pressure > 8BAR, the thermostatic valve may be locked in closed position
Open the valve and make sure that the orifice filter is not clogged
If necessary, replace the thermostatic valve and the orifice
Load the system with the correct amount of refrigerant
→
see “rating plate”
Once the system has been loaded, make sure it works properly
→
see “installation check list/functional testing”
If the evaporation pressure remains fixed between 1.5-2.5BAR the cell
temperature does not drop below -15°C, the thermostatic valve is locked open
Try closing the overheating screw by turning it clockwise by ½
turn and check if the evaporation pressure changes
If there is no change or the change is minimal, replace the thermostatic valve
