Direct Connections

With a direct connection you can build a network between wireless users without
resorting to an access point, for instance, to exchange data directly. An ad-hoc network
of this nature is created by one wireless user; all other wireless users can register
at this network. Comprehensive information on setting up an ad-hoc network is pre-
sented in the (PDF) manual of your FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick at:

www.avm.de/en/service/manuals

.

Establishing a Wireless Connection: WPS

FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), a standardized procedure
for secure wireless LAN connections between WLAN clients and WLAN access points.
With WPS all security settings needed are transferred at the push of a button (push-
button method) or by entering a PIN (PIN method).

1.  Select from the list of available wireless LAN devices the device you would like to

connect to.

2.  If WPS is supported, the corresponding WLAN control software will guide you

through all of the remaining steps.

FRITZ!WLAN: List of available WLAN devices: Devices that support WPS are designated with the WPS icon

For a comprehensive description of the WPS procedure, see the (PDF) manual of the
