PLEASE REFER TO YOUR SYSTEM INST
ALLATION
& OPERATING INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR FULL
CONNECTION DETAILS.
1. Remove one of the cable entry cut-outs on the Contact
Switch and feed the cable through the entry into the
Contact Switch housing.
2. Carefully remove the outer sheath of the cable and then
strip 5mm of insulation from the Yellow and Blue wires.
Connect the Yellow and Blue wires to the Contact
Switch terminals as shown.
3. Strip off 5 mm of the insulation from the Green and
White wires and connect together using a spare terminal
in the contact housing.
Note: If the spar
e contact terminals are not present in
the contact then the ends of the wires should be
securely twisted (or soldered) together and insulated.
If connecting multiple contacts the Tamper circuit wiring
should be continued in a series loop in a similar way to
the zone wiring.
Note: If your existing system is using a non-standar
d colour
coding system for the wiring, then this must be followed.
4. The remaining wires should be trimmed back and
insulated to prevent short circuits and then tucked away
in the Contact Switch housing.
5. Fix the Contact Switch to the fixed part of the
door/window frame immediately beside the Magnet
using two 25mm Counter-sunk fixing screws.
Ensure that the parallel gap between the Magnet and
Contact Switch positions is no greater than 9mm.
6. The Magnetic contact is now ready to be connected to
the Control Panel or existing zone wiring.
If wiring the new Magnetic contact to an unused zone
connect to the appropriate zone terminals. Alternatively
if wiring into a zone with which already has a detector,
the contact wiring from the new Contact Switch must be
connected in a SERIES loop with existing zone wiring.
The Tamper circuit wiring from the new Contact Switch
must be incorporated into the existing tamper circuit in
a SERIES loop.
7. The Magnetic contact is now ready to be tested.
