6.) Lubricate the longitudinal slot of the Plug. 
7.) Pull the Plug open and put over the cable. The side with the setback surface shall face 
    outwards. 
8.) Bend the metal strain relief sheets tight around the cable coats. Additionally, wrap a cable 
    tie around and tighten it very strong. Depending on the cable diameter, use either the 
    100 mm tie or the 200 mm tie. 
9.) Remove all the parts above the cable tray, install and mark the reserve loops and put all the 
    parts back on the cable tray. 
10.) Make the splices. FRIEDL FO Splice Cassettes 2 x 12 are stackable. Up to 7 will fit. 
11.) Screw the cover onto the top Splice Cassette. 
12.) Lubricate the cable coat at the position where the FXA Plug will come to be. 
13.) Lubricate the inner surface of the Plug. 
14.) Lubricate the longitudinal slot of the Plug. 
15.) Lubricae the entire left side and the entire right side of the Plug. 
16.) Position the Plug so it touches the closure entry from outside. 
17.) Twist the Plug so its slot is on the right side. 
18.) Put the slotted white plastic washer onto the setback surface of the Plug. 
19.) Twist the washer so its slot is on the left side. 
20.) The 2 slots shall be on opposite sides. One left and one right. Not on top and bottom. 
21.) Lubricate the washer. 
22.) Install the 2 long circumferential seals. 
23.) Install the 2 short circumferential seals with its marker facing top. 
24.) Lubricate the circumferential seals where they touch the Plug. 
25.) By now the entire Plug and the washer 
     should be well lubricated. 
     Except: Try to not lubricate the threat 
     of the closure body. 
26.) Install the top half-shell of the 
     closure body. 
27.) Tighten the screws around the closure 
     body with 10 Nm. 
28.) Lubricate the front side of the Folding 
     Screw. The front side is the side that 
     will press on the washer. Try to not 
     lubricate the threat of the Folding Screw. 
29.) Put the Folding Screw over the cable, 
     close it, put it into the opening of the 
     closure body. 
30.) Tighten the Folding Screw with 10 Nm. 
 
After about 1 hour 
(more time is even better) 
it is required to repeat 
steps 27 and 30. 
 
 
 

Re-Opening Instructions: 

Installation should be performed only by personnel experienced with FO cable closures. 
Untighten the Folding Screws. 
Untighten the screws of the closure body.

Installation should be performed only by personnel experienced with FO cable closures.

If the need for water tightness is no criteria, intact sealing parts may be reused.
