Hose Thread

Tools and equipment

:

•  Pipe sealant (non-hardening)
•  Motor oil (for lubricating O-rings)
•  15" (38 cm) adjustable wrench
•  1.5" (38 mm) open-end wrench for hose end

Installation

:

1.  Read this guide.
2.  Disconnect power to the dispenser, and close emergency shut-off valves.
3.  Remove the existing hanging hardware.
4.  Apply non-hardening pipe sealant to the exposed male BSPT threads on the product

dispenser.

5.  Attach the tapered end of the CX6-AE-M hose adapter to the product dispenser threads.

Tighten this to 80 foot-pounds of torque. Make sure the vapor return port (¼” port on the
side of the adapter) is correctly positioned before final tightening.

6.  Attach the appropriate fitting to the port of the CX6-AE-M adapter and torque to 40 foot-

pounds.

7.  Connect the vapor return line to the fitting in the vapor return port.
8.  Install the Healy

Stage II vapor recovery hanging hardware to the adapter. Lubricate the

O-rings with oil. Tighten to 35 to 70 ft-lbs.

9.  If the dispenser is equipped with a breakaway, be sure to attach the hose clamp onto the

dispenser side of the breakaway.

Testing

1.  Restore dispenser power and open the emergency shut-off valves.
2.  Activate the dispenser and dispense product until the full-flow solenoid is activated.
3.  Release the nozzle lever and inspect for leaks around the adapter and hose fittings. Repair if

required.

4.  Check to make sure there is no advance of the GALLONS/LITERS meter when the nozzle is

closed but with the dispenser authorized. If the GALLONS/LITERS meter slowly advances or
creeps, there is a leak from the product to vapor side of the hose.

5.  Deactivate dispenser by returning nozzle to its holder.
6.  If leaks are found, check hose fitting to make sure O-rings are seated and not cut or rolled

over. Repair as necessary.
