Preset Expression Pedal Settings
EDIT : PRESET : PAGE
(9x)
Preset Expression Pedal Settings
is used to make MIDI and initial value settings for the selected Preset which override the
Global Expression Pedal Settings (
) for each of four optional expression pedals.
You must first select a preset (
on p. 41) to edit it using this menu page.
Use the
PARAMETER
footswitches to move between the four parameters of this page: Expression Pedal Number, Pedal
Function and MIDI Channel and Beginning Value Setting.
A value of
OFF
for
Pedal Function disables the selected pedal whenever the currently selected preset is loaded.
A value of
GBL
for Pedal Function allows the global settings for the selected pedal to operate (
), ignoring other settings
made for it on this page whenever the selected preset is loaded.
The Beginning Value determines what MIDI is sent (or not sent) automatically when the selected preset is loaded:
Beginning Value
Expression Pedal Operation
PDL
(“Pedal”)
The pedal position will be polled and a corresponding MIDI value sent automatically whenever the
selected preset is loaded.
OFF
No data is sent until the pedal is moved.
000-127
The value shown will be sent automatically whenever the selected preset is loaded.
To prevent abrupt sound changes, a pedal with a numeric entry in Beginning Value will send MIDI
data only after its physical position crosses the Beginning Value threshold. For example, with an
initial value setting of “15”, you need to move to the pedal position corresponding to the value “15”
before any MIDI data will be sent by the expression pedal.
The setting for Beginning Value should never be outside the MIN/MAX range of the pedal,
whether set globally (
IMPORTANT
: Expression pedals need to be calibrated before use (

Preset Expression Pedal Min/Max Values
EDIT : PRESET : PAGE
(10x)
Use
Preset Expression Pedal Min/Max Values
to set the data transmission range of each of four optional expression pedals,
overriding the global pedal min/max settings (
) when the selected preset is loaded.
You must first select a preset (12.1.0) to edit it using this menu page:
Use
PARAMETER
to select between Expression Pedal (XP) Number, Min Value, and Max Value parameters.
The minimum must be less than the maximum, and the MIN/MAX range must include the pedal’s “Beginning Value,” if it is set
numerically, whether at the Globally (
) or for the selected Preset (
A value of
GBL
in Pedal Function (above) allows the global On/Off value settings for the selected pedal to operate (
causing its settings on this page to be ignored.
Preset Expression Pedal custom range only applies if the preset’s corresponding expression Pedal is NOT set to “Global”.
