EcoLog 

59 

Automatic COM Port recognition 

The PC has 6 communication ports, COM-1 to COM-6. One of these 
ports is usually available for external communication. It is not 
necessary to know which port is available, since 

EcoLab can detect 

it for you.

  

Connect the communication cable from EcoLog to one of the PC 
COM Port connectors. In most cases, the port connectors are located 
near the mouse port. Use the 9 25 adaptor if the PC connector is of 
the 25 pins variety. 
Turn on EcoLog and run the EcoLab software. EcoLab will 
automatically attempt to communicate with the data logger. If 
communication is achieved, the selected port becomes designated as 
EcoLog
