NOTICE
Never operate or trailer your boat with the
engine hatch in its open position. Doing so
could result in damage to the engine hatch,
hardware, and/or loss of cushions.
F. Engine Hatch with Electric Lift
An engine hatch with electric screw jack (lift) is
optional on certain SL models. The screw jack lifts and
lowers the engine hatch by pressing the switch loca-
ted near the engine hatch in cockpit. The screw jacks
run off the ship’s systems battery. The prop rod should
always be utilized to help support the weight of the
engine hatch and to provide added safety while
working on the engine.
To raise the engine hatch:
1. Remove the walk-thru cushion and backrest (if
applicable). Stow the cushion and backrest to
prevent loss or damage.
2. Press the engine hatch switch or manually raise
the engine hood to its open position.
The engine hatch can be lifted without the
screw jack. Use care and proper lifting tech-
niques to prevent possible back injury. Prop
rod must be properly placed to keep engine
hatch in open position when lifting manually.
3. Place the prop rod into the prop rod holders in the
hatch and lower the hatch so the prop rod sup-
ports the hatch. Note: Ensure you lower the screw
jack to allow the engine hatch to rest on the rod.
2. Slide the seat completely forward or rearward (as
needed to clear coaming/side pad or seat cushion)
by using the adjustment lever located either on the
right or left side of the seat depending upon which
seat is being adjusted. See Figure N9.
3. Locate the swivel lever on either the right or left
side of the seat and lift upward. See Figure N9.
4. Rotate the seat towards the port or starboard
console) until it faces the forward position. Once
in position, ensure the swivel lever locks the seat
in place. Pushing down on swivel lever to lock seat
in position may be necessary. See Figure N9.
5. Adjust seat forward or back as desired.

The amount and direction of swivel available
depends on the model you have.
NOTICE
When rotating the bucket seat, damage to
seat, steering wheel (if applicable), and/or
coaming pad may result if attempting to rotate
in the wrong direction or over-rotating. DO
NOT USE FORCE to rotate the seat.
After rotating, ensure seat is securely locked
into position. Sudden acceleration with seat
unlocked could cause loss of balance and
possible injury.
DO NOT sit on the b ack rest por tion of any
cockpit seat. The operator could lose con trol
of boat or pas sen gers could be thrown from
boat. Also, the seat may be dam aged from
improper use.
E. Engine Hatch with Gas-Assist Lift
Standard on the engine hatch of the SL models are
gas-assist lifts. These gas-assist lifts ease the amount
of force necessary to manually lift the engine hatch.
These lifts also aid in lowering the engine hatch. Note:
A certain amount of effort is still required when either
raising or lowering the hatch. See Figure N10.
