D. GPS Navigation Package
A GPS is an electronic system through which a navigator
can determine his position regardless of weather. The
GPS sensor receives high frequency radio signals gener-
ated from satellites to generate coordinate readings on
the display. The GPS navigational unit takes this infor-
mation and uses it to determine the vessel’s exact posi-
tion. Factory installed GPS system is optional only. It is
mounted at the helm. If equipped, refer to the manufact-
urer’s literature included in the owner’s packet.
NOTICE
This device is only an aid to navigation. Its ac-
curacy can be affected by many factors includ-
ing equipment failure or defects, environmental
conditions, and improper handling or use. It is
the user’s responsibility to exercise common
prudence and navigational judgement, and this
device should not be relied upon as a substitute
for such prudence and judgement.
E. Radar Arch
The radar arch is a standard feature and is swept forward
in design. This presents a sleek, new look while provid-
ing an adequate platform necessary for installation of ra-
dar equipment. See Figure M11. Four Winns does not
offer radar equipment, however, excellent “aftermarket”
equipment is available. The 348 helms provide plenty of
space for such instrumentation i.e.. GPS, auto pilot, ra-
dar, fish finder, tridata, etc.

M - 14 SPOTLIGHT
A properly operating spotlight is essential for safe cruis-
ing at night. Four Winns offers electrically controlled spot-
lights as standard equipment on the 348. See Figure
M12. The spotlights use electric motors and helm switch
controls to direct the spotlight beam. Refer to the spot-
light manufacturer’s literature included in the owner’s
packet.
