The HR150 / HR 410 is fitted with an automatic
defrost function ensuring the cooling plate remains
free from ice. The condensate water is automatically
dispersed using the heat from the refrigeration unit.
The LR150 / LR 410, being static freezer shelves,
requires manual defrosting. All the stored product
should be removed and placed in a separate freezer
storage cabinet. Switch off at the mains electric 
supply. Leave the door open and place bowls inside
to catch the water as the freezer shelves defrost.Once
fully defrosted dry the inside of the cabinet and
switch on again. Do not replace the frozen food
until the cabinet has reached its normal operating 
temperature.

WARNING: 

Do not use any sharp instruments

or heat to remove the ice from the freezer shelf as
this may cause damage.

have components that can be harmful to

the environment.  All old refrigerators must

be disposed of by appropriately registered

and licensed waste contractors, and in

accordance with National laws and 

regulations.

Insert the fused mains plug into the wall socket and
switch on at the mains. The cabinet will start 
automatically and display the actual internal 
temperature, as the operating temperature has been
pre-set. Allow the cabinet to reach its normal 
operating temperature before loading.

levelling feet already fitted.

8. Door Lock

To lock the door, insert the key and turn straight
through 90˚.

9. Internal Light (Where fitted)

The ON/OFF switch is located on the front of the
light fitting.

The HR140, LR140 / HR150 /
HR200, LR200 / HR360, LR360 /
HR 410, are supplied with 
slotted removable shelf supports
allowing flexible shelf partitions.
The rear supports have an in-
built ‘slot’ to prevent the shelf
from damaging the rear air duct.
The LR150 / LR 410 is supplied
with fixed freezer shelves.

5. Switching On

If the cabinet has been laid on its back at any time
DO NOT switch on immediately but leave in the
upright position for at least 60 minutes. 

When loaded, ensure that
air can circulate around /
through stored products.

cleaning/maintenance

N.B. Before internal cleaning, un-plug 
the cabinet from the mains supply.

Checks must be carried out by a competent
person.

Before calling a Foster Authorised Service
Company check the following:
a) Power failure (may be off at source)
b) Damaged mains lead plug.

When requesting service assistance always quote
the following:
a) cabinet serial number (E..........) 
b) cabinet model number  
Both taken from the serial plate located inside the
cabinet.

Important:

Ensure a minimum clearance

of 25mm above and beside

the cabinet for ventilation

and efficient operation.

Where possible, ensure the

cabinet is not adjacent to a

heat source. 

Remove the shrinkwrapping, 

cardboard corner protectors,

cardboard lid and packaging

from the door opening 

surround making sure that

any sharp instrument used

does not cause damage, plus

remove any Quality labels. Documentation is inserted

into a clear pocket located inside the cabinet. 

To remove from pallet, cut the cable ties situated

through the base plate slot that hold the cabinet to

the pallet.

14. Door Gaskets

These should be inspected on a regular  basis and
replaced if damaged. To clean, wipe with a warm
damp soapy cloth followed by a clean damp cloth
and finally thoroughly dry before closing the door.

15. Shelf Supports & Shelves - All Models

Remove the shelves and shelf support  (by 
removing fixing screw). The shelves are dishwasher
safe, however wash the vertical supports with
warm soapy water, rinse and thoroughly dry before
replacing.

Evenly distribute the load
(max 25kg per shelf or
maximum load 50kg
whichever is the highest).

Cover all foods and separate raw and cooked foods. 

13. Cleaning Instructions

IMPORTANT:

Cared for correctly the cabinet will retain its

appearance for many years.

White Exterior: wipe with a warm damp 

soapy cloth followed by a clean damp cloth

and thoroughly dry.

Stainless Steel Exterior: use a proprietary 

stainless steel cleaner following the 

manufacturers instructions.

Aluminium Interior: to be washed with 

soapy water, rinsed and dried thoroughly.

WARNING:

High alkaline cleaning agent or those 

containing bleaches, acids and chlorines are

very harmful to stainless steel. Corrosion and

pitting may result from their accidental or

deliberate application.

If any of these liquids should come into 

contact with the cabinet during general

kitchen cleaning, wipe down the affected area 

immediately with clean water and rub dry.

Never use wire wool or scouring powders on

any surface. After cleaning allow the cabinet

to reach its normal operating temperature

before reloading with product. During usage

all spills should be wiped clean immediately

but care should be taken not to touch the 

interior of the freezer cabinet as warm skin 

can ‘freeze’ to metal.

CONDENSER:

Clean the condenser, located in the unit 

compartment, when it becomes dirty. 

Important: Disconnect the mains electrical 

supply to the machine prior to cleaning the

condenser. 

Clean the condenser using a soft brush or 

vacuum cleaner. NOTE: if there are any 

stubborn grease deposits etc left on or

through the condenser call your Foster

Authorised Service Company to carry out a 

full service.

Once the condenser has been cleaned switch

the unit on.

Failure to carry out this action may invalidate

the warranty of the condensing unit. Any 

service calls due to lack of maintenance may

be chargeable.
