Step 3. Connecting

Step 4. Powering on

Connect the switch to the power outlet and then turn the power switch on to activate the switch.  The power switch is located at the back of the unit.

The FS-80-PoE can supply power to a PoE capable device over an existing Ethernet cable.  If a device is not compatible, or does not operate on

PoE, then the  port will not source power to this device. This feature allows users to freely and safely mix legacy and Power over LAN compatible

devices on their network.

The FS-80-PoE supports 8 10/100/1000M Ethernet ports.  Ports 1 – 4 supply PoE automatically when connected to a 802.3af compatible device.

Ports 5 – 8 do not provide PoE, and are best suited for uplink ports, PCs and printers. These ports automatically detect and operate in half and full

duplex mode.

The FS-80-PoE provides auto MDI-II or MDI-X cable selection for easy connection using standard or crossover RJ45 cables.

Note

: It is important that the PoE is used indoors only.  Ensure that Ethernet cable carrying PoE power does not route outside of the building.
