Setup Options
Set up your device locally using the GUI or CLI. Choose one of the following
options to complete your setup, then configure your device.
Local Setup
Command Line Interface (CLI)
An alternate configuration tool from the web-based manager that
uses a
terminal emulation
application to
type commands
or upload
batches of commands from a text file or
configuration script

GUI
Local Setup
An
easy-to-use
GUI
, compatible with most web browsers.
To minimize scrolling, the screen resolution should be at least
1280 x 1024 pixels.

Connect your device as follows:

management computer
to configure the device using

Connect to the Internet to access
FortiGuard
and FortiCare.

High Availability
(HA) connection.

VM outgoing port
allows possibly malicious connections to
connect to the Internet.
This port should be connected through an
isolated network

Connect
FortiGate
or other devices.
Optionally, can be used as
sniffer
ports.

Note:
The FortiSandbox unit requires some
basic configuration
to add it to your
network, including assigning
IP addresses
, DNS settings, and the
default gateway
.
Until these steps are completed traffic will not flow through the device.
Ethernet port 1
only supports HTTPS, HTTP, SSH, and Telnet services. With the
exception of HTTPS, these services can be
disabled
using the
GUI
.
