form fit

 hood protector.

 

Care Instructions

 

 

Clean the protector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. 

 

Periodically check to make sure all the hardware is in place and the protector is secure. 

Attention!  

Do not use chemicals or solvents. Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the 

protector when opening or closing the hood.

Installation Instruction 

1.  Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle. 
2.  Center the protector on hood, determine where the protector will mount, remove and discard the corresponding 

hood seal clips with the side cutters.

 

3.  Slide the protector in between the hood and the hood seal.

 

4.  Insert the expansion plugs through the existing holes in the hood seal where the clips were removed in step 2, 

through the holes in the protector and into the hood. 

See Illustration #1.

 Be sure that all components are well 

seated into the hood, and then tighten the screws into the expansions plugs. 

Do not over tighten.

 

5.  Peel and fold the anti-abrasion film pads in half over the leading edge of the hood underneath each of the holes 

in the protector. 

See Illustration #2.

 

6.  Push a “C” clip over each of the anti-abrasion film pads on the edge of the hood as shown below in 

Illustration

. Tighten a # 6 x 3/8” screw through the protector and into each of the clips – Note: The screws will tighten 

quickly – 

do not over tighten

7.  Raise the hood. Make sure all the clips are well seated against the hood. Tighten the # 4 x 3/16” set screws in 

the back of the clips. 

8.  Install the rubber bumpons as shown in Illustration #3. 

Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the 

hood not the protector!!!!

 If the bumpons are installed on the protector, they will wear through the paint. 

9.  On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance. 

Note: Do not pull on the protector when opening or closing the hood.

Installation Instruction 

1.  Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle. 

2. 

Center the protector on hood, determine where the protector will mount, remove and discard the corresponding 
hood seal clips with the side cutters.

 

3. 

Slide the protector in between the hood and the hood seal.

 

4.  Insert the expansion plugs through the existing holes in the hood seal where the clips were removed in step 2, 

through the holes in the protector and into the hood.

seated into the hood, and then tighten the screws into the expansions plugs. 

Do not over tighten.

 

5.  Peel and fold the anti-abrasion film pads in half over the leading edge of the hood underneath each of the holes 

in the protector.

6.  Push a “C” clip over each of the anti-abrasion film pads on the edge of the hood as shown below in 

Illustration

. Tighten a # 6 x 3/8” screw through the protector and into each of the clips – Note: The screws will tighten 

quickly – 

do not over tighten

7.  Raise the hood. Make sure all the clips are well seated against the hood. Tighten the # 4 x 3/16” set screws in 

the back of the clips. 

8.  Install the rubber bumpons as shown in Illustration #3.

 If the bumpons are installed on the protector, they will wear through the paint.
