4. ADJUSTMENT
4.1 Adjustment of bellmouth
1. Take an open-ended spanner or a ring spanner No 8 (8 mm).
2. Place the spanner around the nut (item 35) on the opposite of the
connector fixture (item 30).
3. Turn to the left to increase the bellmouth at the box side of the terminal.
4. Turn to the right to decrease the bellmouth at the box side of the terminal.
Note
: When adjusted, give with a hammer a slight touch on the screw (item
27) to be sure that the nut and washer (item 34) rest against the
handtool frame (item 4).
4.2 Adjustment of crimp height
Eventually, the tool hinges can wear, so that the crimp height must be
readjusted. (See below specified height.) This is done by loosening screw
(item 10) and rotating the stop rings (9 and 9A) one stop to change the crimp
height approximately 0.05 mm (0.002 inches).
5. MAINTENANCE
•
Regular checks must be made for possible gold build-up on crimper and
anvil.
•
If necessary, these parts may be cleaned.
•
Damaged parts must be replaced immediately. For partnumbers see parts
list.
Movable parts should be lightly oiled. For this purpose use the oil that is
enclosed in the case.
