FTS20204 - Battery Operated Lag Driver
OPERATING PROCEDURES
1. Observe all safety precautions (see page 3).
2. Ensure the battery is installed.
3. To drive a screw spike/lag, make sure the tool is operating in a clockwise direction. Press the direction button
forward away from the user and toward the ground.
5. To remove the screw spike/lag, make sure the tool is operating in a counter-clockwise direction. Press the
direction button backward toward the user and away from the ground.
5. Ensure that Agency’s safety procedures are followed when working around or near the third rail.
6. Make sure drill is set to #4. Sometimes hands may accidentally reset to a lower setting.
7. Center the tool over the screw spike/lag until the screw spike/lag sits inside the socket at the end of the
LagEase.
8. Let the tool do the work. Do not exert pressure on the tool with your body weight to assist with driving the
screw spike/lag.
9. Remove the battery from the tool when not in use. Never inspect the unit with the battery installed.
COLD WEATHER OPERATION Using the LagEase during cold weather may reduce the charge life of the battery.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
1. Make sure that the socket retainer is firmly in place holding the socket to the LagEase.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If symptoms of poor performance develop, the following points can be used as a guide to correct the problem.
When diagnosing faults in operation of the lag driver, always check the battery power source and battery charge
level.
Problem:
Solution:
Lag Driver will not operate
Check the direction button to be sure it is not set on
the lock setting
Lag Driver operates slowly
Check for low battery level and replace the battery.
Make sure it is set to #4.
