Maintenance / Disassembly

4.1

Maintenance

All FMS Force Measuring Sensors are maintenance-free. Depending on the type of
bearing used, it may be necessary to periodically lubricate the bearings.

4.2

Disassembly

The disassembly of the Force Measuring Sensors is done by reversing the order of the
assembly procedure.

Functional Description

The Force Measuring Roller RMGZ100 series is used to measure the tension in wire,
cable, and similar materials. The Force Measuring Roller is equipped with two
lifetime lubricated deep groove ball bearings. The customer specific deflection pulley
is mounted to them. The Force Measuring Roller RMGZ100 series work according to
the principle of the bending test beam. Four foil-type strain gauges configured in a full
Wheatstone Bridge measure the bending and thus the material tension. Factory set
overload protection devices prevent deformation of the measuring web caused by
overload. The load must always be applied in the middle of the two bearings to ensure
reproducible measuring results.
