SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
Read all safety
warnings and instructions!
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions
may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious
injury. Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term power tool in the warnings refers to
your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1.
ALWAYS remove the power cord plug
from the electric outlet when making
adjustments, changing parts, cleaning, or
working on the pump.
2.
DO NOT operate the pump if you are
under the influence of any drugs, alcohol,
or medication that could affect your ability
to use the pump properly.
3.
NEVER touch the pins of the plug while
inserting it into the electrical socket.
4.
USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD.
Make
sure your extension cord is in good condition.
When using an extension cord, be sure to use
one heavy enough to carry the current your
product will draw. An undersized cord will
cause a drop in line voltage resulting in a loss
of power and overheating. Table 1 shows the
correct size to use depending on cord length
and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use
the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge
number, the heavier the cord.
5.
Use only extension cords that are
intended for outdoor use.
These extension
cords are identified by a marking “Acceptable
for use with outdoor appliances, store indoors
while not in use.” Use only extension cords
having an electrical rating not less than the
rating of the product. Do not use damaged
extension cords. Examine the extension cord
before using and replace if damaged. Do not
abuse extension cords and do not yank on any
cord to disconnect it from the power source.
Keep the cord away from heat and sharp
edges. Always disconnect the extension cord
from the receptacle before disconnecting the
product from the extension cord.
6.
ALWAYS keep the power cord away
from sharp objects or any other obstacle
that may cause damage to the cord.
7.
Always disconnect from electrical
outlet before handling the pump.
