Golden rules

Rooter S

•  Before using Rooter S directly after purchase, make 

sure the battery is fully charged. 

•  Before using directly after purchase, it is important to 

calibrate the instrument. Please refer to the calibration 

procedure on the back of this present document.

•  Make sure the Rooter S is turned off before inserting 

or removing files. Furthermore never insert or remove 

files without holding down the file release or insertion 

switch, this will damage the chuck.

•  FKG instruments are used in continuous rotation and 

do not require the OTR function.

Programming protocol

The factory settings can be changed according to your 

wishes and/or according to the FKG instrumentation 

table (see overleaf). To do this, please use the following 

programming protocol:

1.  Press the Main switch   to turn Rooter S on. The 

standby display will appear.

2.  Select memory number (for example M6): press Plus 

or Minus switch 

.

3.  Changing a parameter of a primary function (speed, 

torque, rotation mode):

a.  Press the Select switch   to choose one of the 

primary functions. By pressing several times, you 

will display the primary functions.

b.  Press the Plus or Minus switch 

 to change the 

desired setting.

4.  Changing a sub-setting of the same memory number:

a.  Hold down the Select switch   for at least 1 

second.

b.  Press the Select switch   to display the various 

sub-settings.

c.  Change the setting; press the Plus or Minus switch 

.

5.  Changing a parameter of an optional setting (volume, 

right or left handed display, return to standby time,...):

a.  Hold down Select switch   and then press the 

switch  .

b.  Press the Select switch   to select one of the 

settings.

c.  Press the Plus or Minus switches 

 to change 

the setting.

d.  Press the Main switch   to return to the standby 

display.
