GAS VALVES

To Change a Gas Valve
7.1.1
Turn off gas supply and electricity.
7.1.2
Remove the product top panel (see Section 4).
7.1.3
Disconnect ignition switch wires.
Lift off microswitches.

" nut on rear of unit to gas supply.

Remove screw holding valve to manifold bracket through hole in the right hand side of the basepan.

Change gas valves. Ensure new valve lines up with other valves and the holes in the top panel. It's
alignment depends on tightness of the clamping screw as well as the shape of the gas pipes (which
may push the manifold sideways).

Replace in reverse order. Leak test with a suitable leak detection fluid, e.g. Rocol.
Reconnect ignition switch wires (replace microswitch for GC901).
Note:
Remember to test the gas valve outlet with the valve turned on.
7.1.8
Check turndown setting (see Section 3).

Replace product top panel.
7.2
To Re-Grease Gas Valves
7.2.1
Remove product top panel.
7.2.2
Remove circlips from each gas valve to free the microswitch assembly.
Lift off microswitches.
7.2.3
Unscrew the two Philips screws on the top of the gas valve.
7.2.4
Gently lift out the valve cone, clean with solvent.
7.2.5
Re-grease with high temperature grease. (e.g. ROCOL HT, Otimol HT2EP, Ragasine Moly
LM). Replace.
7.2.6
Move it around, remove excess grease, remove and check holes in the core or body are not blocked,
replace.
7.2.7
Open and close a couple of times.
7.2.8
Check for leaks with leak detection fluid e.g. Rocol Leak Detection spray) and re-assemble in reverse
order.
