Calibration
Procedure
1. In the WinFTM main window select
Calibrate > Calibration Standard Set…
.
An empty window will
appear, if the measuring
application has not yet
been calibrated.
If the measuring applica-
tion has already been
calibrated, check the
values in the window. If
the values are plausible,
click
OK
and skip the
2. Enter a name for the cali-
bration standard set in
the field
Label
(e.g., Cr/
Ni/Cu Ser. No. 13917).
3. Click
Input/Overwrite.
4. Tick the option
Element-Corr.
If this option is used, the pure element spectra are determined during calibration.
The window
Standard No. 1
appears.
5. Enter the name of the
standard
(e. g., AAMGW).
6. Enter the values of the
calibration standard.
Click the field three times
in order to enter a value.
The fields have the
following meaning:
Value
Nominal value of the calibration standard (in the example
coating thickness d1 (Zn) in
μ
m coating thickness d2 (Ni) in
μ
m, Cu concentration in %)
u +/-
If an uncertainty for the reference value is stated on the
certificate for the calibration standard, enter this value here.
If you do not enter a value, then the following values will be
used: for coating thicknesses, 1% of the coating thickness;
for concentrations, 1% absolute.
